ToeUP™ - A New Drop Foot Orthosis from Camp Scandinavia!

1 December 2024

Thanks to our extensive experience and expertise in ankle-foot orthoses, we are now expanding our range with a new textile orthosis. To learn more about ToeUP, we met with David Nordenberg Steiman, Product Manager, and Louise Holmgren, R&D Project Manager.

Tell us about the new product and how it works!

ToeUP is a textile ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) designed for patients with milder forms of drop foot. It features various adjustable and interchangeable parts, allowing it to be customised to individual needs. ToeUP provides support and helps lift the forefoot during walking. The ankle part of the orthosis is connected to an elastic band that attaches to hooks under the laces or in the shoe's eyelets, providing a lift to the forefoot during walking. The lift can be adjusted by altering the placement of the hooks or the band on the ankle section and the shoes.

Who is the primary target group for this product?

We developed ToeUP for people with milder drop foot symptoms who are looking for soft support with adjustable lift capacity. The elastic and adjustable bands that come with the product offer good dorsiflexion assistance to the user. ToeUP also has a foot section that makes it possible to use the orthosis without shoes or with non-laced footwear, such as sandals.

Which diagnoses is it intended for?

ToeUP is intended for use in cases of mild neuro- and/or muscle weakness where foot drop is a symptom.

What sets this product apart from similar products on the market?

This orthosis is made of a soft and flexible textile material and offers easy adjustments for individual customisation. It is also equipped with a D-ring at the front that gathers the band lifting the forefoot, which not only assists with the lift but also provides a discreet silhouette.

When will the product be available for purchase?

ToeUP will be launched in November, 2024.
